A Change Is Coming

Today’s quote: “In the End, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.”
Martin Luther King, Jr.

It’s already the second week of the month and it seems like it was January 1st just yesterday. Tomorrow I have an announcement to make. Why don’t you just tell us now, you ask?  All I will say right now is I’m excited about it. I actually outsourced and it felt good. This is coming from someone who is so used to doing everything herself.  God worked it out so that it was within budget and I got what I wanted. I hope you like the change. Feedback is surely welcomed after I make the official announcement.

I’m so excited about some of the things God is allowing me to do right now, its hard to sit still in my seat.  Right now, imagine hearing the song “I’m So Excited” playing in the background–that’s how I feel.

Ask Me Anything

Today’s quote: Change does not roll in on the wheels of inevitability, but comes through continuous struggle. And so we must straighten our backs and work for our freedom. A man can’t ride you unless your back is bent.”
Martin Luther King, Jr.

question-mark-gif.gifAsk me anything and I will answer it here on the blog on Friday. Promise…you can leave your name or leave one anonymously…I’m not scared (smile). I look forward to your questions.

Happy New Year

Double Platinum
Its a new year and its time for a new start. As one year ends and another one begins, its time to make some much needed changes. Procrastination was left behind. What I can do today, I will. Dead weight has been lost. In order to move forward on the path God has set forth, life can’t remain stagnant. Change isn’t always easy; but change will come whether you prepare for it or not. As my friends know, my life changed at the end of 2007. I lost someone dear to my heart. As I reminisced about the good times I was blessed to share with my grandfather, I also took time to reflect on other areas of my life.  Although I don’t know what 2008 will hold; I will do my part to make sure I’m working towards my personal and professional goals. Learn from the past and live for today. Its time to embrace not only a new year but a new start.

May God’s blessings overflow in your life this year and beyond.

Make sure you know where she is right before you step out. If you’re good at what you do. You should already have her used to an 11pm phone call before bedtime. Tell her what she needs to hear and she will go to bed knowing that her man loves her. LADIES CHECK OUT WHAT ELSE MR. SLISH HAS TO SAY!!!

Do You Believe in Love at First Sight?

How to seduce anyone.

Lori’s 13 Trick or Treat Don’ts

1) DON’T send your kid out to knock on doors until you’ve first taught him/her proper Halloween etiquette. “Give me some candy!” and “Is that all you’ve got?” are not acceptable substitutes for “Trick or treat! and Thank you.”

2) If you’re 13 years old or older and you’re thinking about knocking on my door and asking for candy . . . DON’T . . . unless you’re looking to be embarrassed or have the police called on your behind.

3) If you’re thinking about letting little Ashley dress up like Peaches the stripper or Kitty the call girl, and calling it a costume . . . DON’T! That mess is SO NOT cute.

4) If you forget to buy candy, DON’T try to substitute those stale mints and those dried up sticks of gum that have been sitting in the bottom of your purse or in that dusty bowl in the living room forever. That’s just nasty . . . and trifling.

5) If you’re one of those anti-sugar freaks, DON’T pass out toothbrushes and dental floss–sheesh, just turn out the lights and keep your durn door shut.

6) DON’T send your child up to my house clutching one of those big, green, 30-gallon sized trash bags, unless he/she is pretending to be a sanitation worker. It’s Halloween folks, not garbage pick-up day.

7) If you’re sitting in the house in your drawers, getting your drank on, when the door bell rings, do us all a favor and just DON’T answer it.

7 Things…

I’ve been tagged by Don over @ Minus the Bars. The rules of the game are:
A). Link to the person that tagged you and post the rules on your blog…
B). Share 7 random and/or weird facts about yourself…
C). Tag 7 random people at the end of your post and include links to their blogs…
D). Let each person know that they’ve been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

1) I am a CSI junkie…so don’t call me at 9 on Monday or Wednesday or 8 on Thursdays.
2) I like hip-hop. Not all, but some. The clean versions 🙂
3) I always wanted to be a songwriter…well lyricist.
4) I don’t drink. If I go out with friends, I order a virgin drink. I get teased about it, but oh well.
5) I don’t like coconut. That goes for coconut cake, anything that’s cooked with coconut, etc. Bonus: I don’t like liver either.

6) I’m a Prince fan.
7) I’m shy.

I am breaking the chain, so thank me later 🙂
